Irma Kathleen O'Reilly Gilbert 89, of Demopolis passed away Tuesday August 6, 2019, at Druid City Hospital. Services will be held Friday August 9, 2019, at 11 a.m. from St. Leo's Catholic Church with Father Larry Shinnick officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. She was born September 19, 1929, in West Port, Ontario, Canada to Della and Frank O'Reilly. Irma was preceded in death by her parents; her 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Surviving Irma is her husband, Gerald Howard Gilbert; daughters, Debbie Green (Dr. John) of Demopolis and Diane Donahue (Tim); sons, Mike Gilbert and Jeff Gilbert (Cheri) both of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Dr. John C Green (Dr. Kelly) of Fairhope, Josh Gilbert (Amanda) of Tuscaloosa, Ashley DeAndrade (Dr. Kevin) of Mobile, Kathleen Wideman (John) of Demopolis, Michael Gilbert of Tuscaloosa, Tim Donahue Jr. (Kacey) of Birmingham, Elizabeth Veres (Nick) of Birmingham, and Kristen James (Kirk) of Tuscaloosa; 14 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dr. John C. Green Jr., Josh Gilbert, Michael Gilbert, Tim Donahue Jr., John Wideman, and Dr. Kevin DeAndrade. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Leo,s Catholic Church. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses of the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at both Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital and Druid City Hospitals.
